Kylie Hill
A proud Aboriginal woman from the Kalkadoon and Waanyi from far North Qld Mount Isa and Quandamooka Country on North Stradbroke Island, Hill has been an important part of the Ipswich community for forty years.
Valkyrie Blacksmith
Valkyrie Blacksmith is the Programming Coordinator for Community and Cultural Services at Ipswich City Council. A driven cultural connector and advocate for the arts in Ipswich, she has known Kylie Hill for four years and understands her work intimately. With thirty years in the creative industries, Valkyrie has managed venues, festivals, and events. In 2022, she led the opening of Redcliffe Art Gallery and owned Art’n’Soul Gallery, representing over fifty artists. She specialises in large-scale fire installations and is a licensed pyrotechnician working on projects like Dark Mofo, Horizon Festival, and Woodford Folk Festival.
